Amplifying New and Diverse Voices Across Academic Fields

Vanguard’s commitment to diversity and inclusion made us a natural fit to work with Equal Measure in its role as National Program Office for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded New Connections initiative, which helps scholars from underrepresented groups pursue their career goals and diversify research and perspectives. We collaborated with Equal Measure’s New Connections team to plan and identify news and media opportunities, discover relevant conversations to which they could contribute, and conduct targeted outreach to trade and mainstream outlets. Our staff crafted content that featured New Connections experts and mission in top outlets such as Diverse: Issues in Higher Education and Black Enterprise, in addition to opinion pieces and letters to the editor in mainstream media outlets such as The Huffington Post Black Voices, Health Affairs and Science magazine.
