Empowering Women Voters at the Ballot Box

Vanguard supports the League’s national headquarters in Washington, D.C., with strategic messaging around civic engagement topics and new League rules and regulations, as well as guiding strategic rollout plans to the more than 750 state and local Leagues across the country. We provide strategic counsel, media relations, crisis communication, affiliate relations, social media, materials production and video production related to expanding voter access, fighting voter suppression, money in politics, redistricting and safe and fair elections, among other important social justice issues. We produced award-winning video public service announcements (PSA) to educate voters — in English and Spanish — about how they can participate in elections and pointing them to the League’s key online resource, VOTE411.org. These PSAs ran on more than 8,000 TV and radio stations when they were first produced in 2020; the PSA “Make Your Voting Plan” has been viewed more than 173,000 times on YouTube. We’ve also placed multiple print and digital ads including on billboards in cities across the country, in The Washington Post, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Detroit Free Press and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel encouraging voters to participate in elections. We also draft speeches for League leadership at key events and rallies, and develop branding and materials – from stage designs to mobile app assets – for the membership’s Annual Meeting.
