Translating the Science of Health

Health information can be complex, filled with jargon and otherwise unapproachable for the general public. That’s why the Office of Communications and Public Liaison at NIDDK asked Vanguard to bridge the gap between the science of health and how it affects individuals and communities. Our “translation” services were used to draft a wide range of materials such as diabetes prevention speeches for NIDDK leadership, website copy, newsletter articles and social media messages. We also built relationships with NIDDK scientists and program officers to understand the complexities of the research and connect the dots for media outlets so they would be more likely to cover findings and breaking news.
